Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller's Eric Schneiderman connection

Eric Schneiderman recently resigned in disgrace as New York attorney general after four women accused him of persistent violent and verbal abuse within intimate relationships. His resignation had been called for by numerous high level Democrats who'd long supported him, including New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York's U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

Tuesday, Breitbart's John Nolte wrote of Eric Schneiderman that "As attorney general, he embraced #metoo by pursuing criminal charges against Harvey Weinstein, and used his office as a powerful weapon in the anti-Trump Resistance movement, including a $40 million civil suit against Trump University and some 50 lawsuits to stop Trump from revising environmental regulations."

Interviewed by Samantha Bee some six months ago, on her Comedy Central show, the New York office holder boasted that "I have colleagues all around the country, a network of progressive attorneys general, who have really been the core of the legal resistance."

A fair guess is that Schneiderman's claimed confederates included Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller. Miller was only last month lionized by Pat Rynard of the Iowa Starting Line site:

"While many Democratic legislators and activists can only resist the Trump agenda, Democratic attorneys general, including Iowa AG Tom Miller, have been leading the charge to block Trump's actions. The Democratic AGs are regularly using the courts to fight the Republican onslaught."

Rynard is a self-identified "former Democratic campaign staffer" who lists work for Hillary Clinton's 2008 effort as one accomplishment.

"When President Trump issued his travel ban (also known as the Muslim ban) in January 2017," Rynard wrote, "Miller joined with 15 AGs [including Schneiderman] supporting Washington State's lawsuit against Trump's Executive Order travel ban."

Rynard later added:

"Schneiderman has been involved in over 100 legal actions against the Trump Administration...Miller and other Democratic AGs have successfully defied Trump on a number of issues."

Following Schneiderman's bragging to Bee of a "network of progressive attorneys general, who have really been the core of the legal resistance," the host murmered "You're fighting the good fight."

She was wrong. Politically partisan-motivated exploitation of legal machinery, that voters' expressed will and the legitimate performance of a democratically elected president be frustrated, is far from a "good fight."

But Eric Schneiderman and Tom Miller are OK with that.
